Professor Gebrenegus Ghilagaber, Head of the Department of Statistics at Stockholm University, Sweden, was visiting Professor at the Institute of Endemic Diseases, University of Khartoum, during the period 11-20 January 2017. He gave lectures in Biostatistics to the 6th batch of Masters students in Molecular Medicine. He also contributed with lectures in Biostatistics at the Khartoum Winter School in Bioinformatics and Statistical Genetics, held 15-24 January 2017. Professor Ghilagaber’s current research interest comprise Survival and Event-history Analysis, Multi-level and Multi-process Modelling, and Applications in Demography, Medicine, and Public Health. His work has been published in Mathematical Population Studies, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Quality & Quantity, Public Health, Social Science and Medicine, Scandinavian Journal of Public Health, East African Medical Journal, and South East Asian Journal of Tropical Medicine and Public Health.
